今まで数百種類の食品のパッケージデザインを手がけてきたけれど、どれもメーカーさんや農家さんなどのためのもの。だから一度は自分自身の商品を作りたいと思っていて、今回ようやく重い腰を上げることに。そのアイデアのきっかけは僕の妻で、彼女は若いころから「アイスクリームはおいしいけど冷たいから苦手」といつも言っていて、ソフトクリームなんか半分も食べ終わらないうちに「もう無理かも」って。だからいつか常温のアイスを作ってみたいなと思うように。もしかしてクッキーなら近いものが作れる気がして、事務所のOGでもあるお菓子作家、矢野佳糸美さんにお願いしてこのメレンゲクッキーができあがった。何度も試作して試行錯誤を繰り返したけれど、アイスと思って食べたらきっとアイスに感じるので、ぜひお試しを。

I've worked on packaging designs for hundreds of different types of food products, but they were all for manufacturers and farmers. That's why I wanted to create my own product, and I finally got around to it this time. The idea came from my wife, who has always said since she was young that "Ice cream is delicious, but I don't like it because it's cold," and before she'd even finished half a soft serve ice cream, she'd say, "I don't think I can do this anymore." So I started thinking that one day I'd like to make room temperature ice cream. I thought maybe I could make something similar with a cookie, so I asked confectionery artist and former member of our agency, Yoshimi Yano, to make this meringue cookie, and it was a process of trial and error many times, but if you eat it thinking it's ice cream, it will definitely taste like ice cream, so please give it a try.
